My first memory of Wayne was when I was 8 years old. He drove is Chevy Station Wagon through Garden Villas in about 1963 with his CB radio PA blaring. This is "K double E 28-66" how about a radio check? How thrilled I was that Christmas when Santa left me some walkie talkies. Even more thrilled as I was on my bicycle delivering the Chronicle and calling for KEE-2866, when he snuck up behind me. He switched his CB to PA and said "Now, I gotta Copy on ya!" He took off and left me to retrieve my newspapers from the ditch. Yes, WW was quite a jokester. Over the years he was a good friend even though I was cautious of his tricks.
