Born on September 26th, 1954 in Houston, Texas, the son of Thomas and Mary (Dee) Sullivan, Tim was a lifelong resident of the Houston area. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1973. Tim twice married Marie, first on November 12th, 1976, and loving her so much, he married her again on April 6th, 1983. They were married for 19 years total and remained great friends until the end of his life. From October 2006 until his passing, Tim worked as a bus driver for the Pearland school district.
From a young age, Tim had a passion for playing baseball and he was an all-star left-handed pitcher. According to legend, he had an opportunity to play in the major leagues but never could recover from elbow injuries- injuries mostly due to his mean curveball. Tim loved swimming and bowling. Even later in life, he was known to embarrass his children at the bowling alley with his super human skills. He always loved cooking, which was not an exact art to him, but a way to put his genuine affection for others and inherent goodness into a definite form.
Tim was never afraid to speak his mind. From politics and religion, to manners and morality, he never held back on his intuitive opinions. He had an awareness and respect for the people and the world around him, which shaped his interactions with everyone. Tim was known to give valuable and meaningful advice to anyone willing to listen. His personality and character had such a huge impact on people’s lives, from the nurses that looked after him, to the students on his school bus. Undoubtedly, there are countless untold stories of his wise and sincere guidance.
There will be a graveside service on Monday, July 18th, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at South Park Cemetery, located at 1310 N Main, Pearland, TX, 77581. Following the graveside service, there will be a memorial service and reception at 11:00 a.m., located at 7033 Dillon St. (the Shaklovitz house), Houston, TX 77061.
The family is especially grateful to the physicians and staff at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital and Ben Taub General Hospital for their dedication to Tim’s care. They would also like to especially thank Dr. Guillermo J. Morell, for his many years of unwavering and devoted service to Tim’s health and well-being. Without all of you, there would never have been those precious, extra years to spend with a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Thank you and God bless.
