It happened. I can't believe we've lost our brother, your dad and grandpa. What a strong and amazing man he was. I remember when he first got his liver transplant, he just wanted to make it to age 50. It happened. Once he passed that, he just wanted to see all his kids graduate from high school. It happened. Then he wanted to see his kids get their lives on track. It happened. He wanted them to move back to Houston. It happened. He wanted to see his boys grow into responsible young men. It happened. He wanted to be independent and not have his family think he wasn't strong enough to handle the many medical struggles he had. It happened. He wanted his family to be strong together. It happened. Shannon, Meghan, Sean, Erin and Ryan - you all were by his side throughout the entire hospital stay, and by his side when he passed. He was so proud of you all. He couldn't stop talking about all the wonderful things you all were doing in your lives. You made him proud--that happened. I know he's in a better place, but I miss him so much--his salsa, his cheesecakes, his jokes.
