We remember Susan from the murder mysteries at the Grand Hotel. She always seamed to be having a great time and if I remember correctly she always had a glass of wine. I am so sorry for your loss.

Jim,
It is such a struggle to accept that Susan's light is gone from this world. Craig and I are deeply sorry for your loss.
On the other hand, it seems like just yesterday that we attended your wedding brunch and watched you and Susan beginning your journey together We've had laughs over the years, and I have many precious memories of discussing her unique observations on the world and work life while standing in my kitchen sipping on Diet Coke. There was always a great story or two about the antics of the cats (there have been many feline characters to discuss over the years). Bernoulli stories were some of my favorites........
But probably my favorite memories are of the time that you both came to Europe to pick up that racy Mercedes from the factory, and drove up to spend a few days with us at our home in Genolier, Switzerland. Besides enjoying the various sites, I remember how peaceful and easy it was just to hang around the house, enjoying a drink, and sitting on the balcony gazing at Lac Leman (Lake Geneva). We laughed until our sides hurt at that last dinner over at our favorite restaurant in Divonne (a little town just across the border in France). And we discussed the new law that the French had just passed, requiring all to have a portable breath-o-lizer in the car. We had a lot of jokes and barbs over that development, and sent you both on your way with our "Mr. Drunkee" in hand so that you would be compliant as you were driving through France the next day.
I cannot really imagine how difficult it will be to move forward without Susan, but I hope we can help in this next phase of your life's journey. Our thoughts and prayers remain with you.
Love and warm regards,
Kate and Craig Holzhauser
Jim,
I am so sorry for this great loss to you. Susan was accomplished in seemingly unrelated areas, united by her intelligence and ability to 'figure it out.' I will miss her sitting at the counter during our Everybody Cooks meals. It was fun swapping crocheting and crafting ideas with her, and noting her success on Etsy. Together, you and she fought hard against cancer. It's a wretched ending to 31 years of loving adventure.
Your Okemos friends are always here to support you, my friend!
