Mr. Robert Leo Marshman's Obituary
Robert Leo Marshman, 68, of League City, TX passed away at home Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in the arms of his loving wife, Leslie. He fought a valiant five-year battle with stage IV lung cancer, facing it the same way he faced life: with a positive attitude and a desire to make the most of every moment.
Robert retired from Texas Heart Institute in 2014 after twenty years as their computer systems manager. He created their original computer network and carried them into the internet era, receiving THI’s President’s Award. He also ran his own computer business, building, repairing and maintaining computers for individuals and companies.
His passions included building and flying remote control airplanes, fishing, camping, and photography.
In addition to his wife of 27 years, Leslie Marshman, he is survived by his step-mother, Geraldine Buell; step-brother, Jack Spurlock and wife Jeanne; brother-in-law, Scott Peterson and wife Donna; cousins, Scott Reed and wife Patricia, Chris Reed and wife Michelle, Tim Reed and Ray Harvey, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. On behalf of Bob and herself, Leslie would like to express her gratitude to Dr. Katherine Pisters and Melody Caranto at MD Anderson Cancer Center for their extraordinary care and compassion.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 13, 2016 from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at South Park Funeral Home 1310 North Main St. Pearland, TX 77581. Funeral service will follow at 12:30 PM in the funeral home chapel.
