In Memory of Pete Prokopuk.
I was truly saddened to hear about the passing of Pete.
He was more than just a mentor he was someone who left a lasting impact on me both professionally and personally. Back when we worked together at General Electric, he brought life and laughter into the shop every single day. Always joking around, especially with his good friend Sam Cooper the two of them were a comedy duo that made even the longest days feel lighter.
He had a gift for teaching. No matter how busy things got, he always made time to show me the right way to do something. He never made me feel like a burden for asking questions, and that kind of patience and encouragement meant more than he probably ever knew.
One of my favorite memories was how we’d spend our breaks. He loved playing chess or cards, always ready for a quick match and a good laugh. It wasn’t just about the game it was about the bond, the stories, the easy way he connected with everyone around him.
When GE shut down the shop, we lost touch. Life moved on, but he stayed in my thoughts. I always hoped our paths would cross again. It hurts to know that chance is gone, but I’ll never forget the lessons, the laughs, and the impact he had on my life.
Rest in peace,
Pete prokopuk. Thank you for everything.
