Paulette was my best friend in high school in 1961 through 1964. I had just moved to Houston Texas. Westbury high school was a new school. It was my first year of high school. and I was not happy. I had no friends at all. I had just moved from my home town of Amarillo Texas and left all my friends behind. I was miserable. But then I met Paulette and we became very close friends. Our senior year Paulette invited me to a Senior party at her house. Oh wow is me!!! I did not know anyone to invite as my date. I told Paulette I would come but without a date. She told me I had to have a date. But I did not know any guys to ask. Paulette says Oh, I will introduce you to my uncle Jerry.. UNCLE JERRY ???!!!! I said. I am not going out with a 50-year-old man!!!! NO way!!!! Well, I did meet
Uncle Jerry Bench age 23 the day he was excepted into the Houston Police Academy. To make a long story short Jerry and I fell in love and 3 1/2 years later we were married. and we were married 40 years and had two sons, Kenneth and Rusty. Jerry sadly past away. in 2006. The day I married Uncle Jerry Bench I became Paulette's, Aunt Ann. Paulett was my Maid of Honor at my wedding.
