Nova May Baker's Obituary
Nova May Baker was born in Houston, TX on February 18, 2015. She won her battle with brain cancer on July 30, 2024, when Jesus made her whole again. The love of her family surrounded her, and she was at her favorite place to be, home, when she took flight.
Nova is survived by her parents, Bobbie and Justin Baker; her sister, Kyla; her brothers, Chris, Jonathan, Bailey, Chase, and Colin; and grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who love her dearly. Nova is also known as Love Bug, Snuggle Bug, "Super Nova," "Nova May May," and "Tootsie," a name Aunt She She gave her when she was born.
Nova loved music, dancing, singing, art, animals, making Snapchat videos, and playing games. She had a big personality, mostly bubbly, a prankster, curious, kind, compassionate, and bold. She enjoyed sharing random facts about animals, playing freeze dance, monarch butterflies, face painting, and shell-finding at the beach. Nova was passionate about raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer.
Her wish was for cancer not to exist and for there to be a cure for all diseases for everyone. Her family is committed to continuing to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer in honor of Nova's wish for a cure. "Nova’s Treasures" has collected gifts for children staying at Texas Children’s Hospital during the holidays for four years. The family will continue this tradition in honor of Nova's big heart. Nova made a positive impact on people from all over the world. She made this world a better place. We will forever miss our little big star, Super Nova May.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests you to scan the QR code which will be located on the tribute wall, and donate to the Sunshine Kids Foundation. This foundation, with its mission of bringing joy to kids battling cancer, has gifted Nova with countless magical memories and smiles for which we will forever be grateful.
