Maywattie Dyal's Obituary
Maywattie Dyal was born on April 9, 1949 in Guyana (then British Guiana) to parents Ragbar Dial and Sahodra Dial. She graduated from Teachers’ College in 1968 and then from the University of Guyana in 1980 with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and French. She taught in Guyana at the Anna Regina Primary School and then at the Anna Regina Multilateral School. She then moved to the Bahamas where she continued her teaching career for over 10 years. She migrated to Houston, Texas in 1998 and was a teacher of English language with Houston Independent School District until her retirement in 2014.
She is survived by her sister, Sorojini Dyal Abass; nephews, Andre Dial, Suresh Seeram, Anand Seeram, Shaun Dial, and O’Neil Dial; nieces, Roxanne Lord, Sharron Dial, Sandra Sheriff, Savita Shivnarine, and Kiran Abass; cousin of Charlie Persaud, Baljeet Singh, Ramcoomarie Singh, Rajcoomarie Sharma, Savi Satnarain, and Babsy Harrak.
She was also sister of the late Udho Dial, Chandrawattie Seeram, and Indrawattie Dial.
