Ms. Lydia Ann Thomas' Obituary
Lydia Ann Thomas left this world to be with the Lord and many loved ones who passed before her. She was born October 13, 1958 and had just celebrated her 58th birthday. She was joyously welcomed by her parents Robert and Della Thomas after a long seven year wait. Twenty eight months later she was joined by her baby brother, Robert Christian Thomas called “Chris”, who entered into heaven far too early at 15 ½ years. We are sure there was quite a happy reunion above not only with Chris but her wonderful grandparents, aunts and uncles and many cousins. Lydia’s children, Destiny and David were her pride and joy, two to be very proud of. Destiny’s gift to her happiness, Robert Christian soon to be seven and Liam Ryan age 3 years and 3 months. Lydia was the best MawMaw who was very patient with them. She spent much time working on fun projects, baking cookies and more importantly teaching them about the Lord. Lydia was an avid Bible student and was constantly reading it. She believed strongly in the Power of Prayer. She was Christian as a baby in the Methodist Church but much later in life was Baptized in the Baptist Church soon to be followed by Destiny and David at their own request at a very early age. At the age of 3 she began taking dance lessons and her instructors started recognizing unusual talent at the age. She spent much of her life teaching and performing until her body took its toll. The Houston Ballet Company recognized her teaching ability and sometimes sent talented students to her when they didn’t have room in the company’s school. Lydia went to be with her Lord and Saviors as most of hope to do peacefully in her sleep with her loyal dog, Shillo at her side.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM at SouthPark Funeral Home. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services starting. Burial will follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
