Mrs. Leandre Eulalie Francis' Obituary
Leandre E. Francis was born on February 26, 1948 in St. Martin and moved to Aruba where she grew up and completed her schooling. She left Aruba and went to St. Croix then Trinidad to continue her education and eventually returned to St. Croix where she began her teaching career. During this time she met James Francis whom she would eventually marry on December 21, 1969 and gave birth to four children.
In 1980, she moved with her family to Houston, Texas where they would build their life and she would continue teaching while pursuing her Master’s degree in Education at the University of Houston. During her tenure at Fairchild Elementary, she was one of the proud recipients of the Teacher of the Year Award given on May 20, 1998 for the 1997-1998 school year. She dedicated her life to teaching and was an educator for more than 30 years before she retired. She loved being a teacher and touched so many lives that she was able to interact with every day.
Leandre passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019 in Pearland, TX and is survived by her husband of almost 50 years James Francis and her children Jameson, Analisa, Jessica, and Natasha as well as two grandchildren Nyla & Ethan.
Although we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the life she led and know that the love she had for her family and God was undeniable and evident to everyone she met. In the midst of our grief, “God will turn our wailing into dancing, remove our sackcloth and clothe us in joy so that our heart will sing His praises and praise Him forever”. We grieve deeply because we have loved deeply, but our hope lies in the Lord that one day soon we will be reunited with our loved one who is asleep in Him. And oh what a joyous day that will be.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm at South Park Funeral Home in Pearland, TX. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Gulfhaven Seventh-Day Adventist Church with the burial following at South Park Cemetery.
