We had so many good times and laughs. I babysat Boss Hogg and he honestly didn’t know what my pigs were. Her car was filled with his bedding, care instructions and of course I was told over & over that she was so happy Boss was going make friends. ROTF. He hated outside and hid in every niche my house had. He jumped out and snapped at us so many times we changed his name to Snipe!
She really enjoyed my sanctuary and all the characters. One evening we sat with our feet hanging over my dock just enjoying stars and laughing. Flying squirrels were going over our heads and she swore they were bats. I kept telling her to listen and could ID them by the sounds. She wouldn’t stop yelling “there’s too many”, “oh that was close” or “I hope they don’t go for my hair”.
The following day we rescued Joe horse. Texas Posse needed help with a horse 1 mile away. So we threw costal hay in the back, I drove and she sat with hay. Joie and I played private eye, took photos and I approached the drunk that owned the horse. Joie’s plan was to stay in the street and take photos incase the man hits me. As aways her worst case scenario or a way to outsmart the owner suggestions were discussed in detail. Lots of other details but we came home with 28 yrs. Old Joe Horse. One hand full of costal hay and the other hand holding Joes lead Joie sat on that tailgate talking sweet words to a broken soul of a horse. She loved it!!! She became my detailed horse educator. We were so proud of ourselves facing danger and thinking up up such clever ways to deal with owner. BTW we warned that it could be a dangerous situation. Throw that at YaYa and she’s the first one to volunteer! ROTF!
So many stories. My most precious is when she took me to the mountains in Colorado to visit a wonderful man named Mark and his wolves. We were taught how to behave or respond with the wolves and waited. Slowly Alpha came up to us. After awhile I was allowed to run my fingers through the most beautiful coat of hair I have ever experienced in my life. On a mountain top petting a scary wolf was absolutely the most cherished moment in life. Only to be broken by Joie guessing what the Omega wolf was about to do to us. She flipped when the black Omega wolf came toward us with an unfriendly face. All of this in seconds. Alpha turned and really gave a werewolf face at Omega. Joie asked Mark to help her get away. I was stuck sitting on the ground next to the wolf. What is so funny about this whole adventure is the fact that in our how to deal with wolves beginners instructions, Mark said DO NOT TALK OR YELL. Now come on! Joie??? No talking??? She was silent until I was stuck with that wolf. Out it comes! She starts telling what not to do AND EVERY worst case scenario that I could experience!!! Since I couldn’t speak Mark was politely telling her we need quiet time right now. The beautiful day ended great. We were laughing about the inappropriate timing of her wolf handler class given to me. She honestly felt her wolf talk was an all time minimal speaking record!
I use to tell her she was a pickle. She absolutely was. But, we really were relaxed, fun and chatterbox friends. I know she was overwhelmed with health issues and pain. I’m glad she is painless and in the comfort of her son.
LOVE YA JOIE! ❤️❤️❤️
