James A. Hudson's Obituary
Montgomery, TX—James A. Hudson, 78, passed away April 12, 2023 in the home of his son Mark in Montgomery, TX where he spent many enjoyable days. Jim is the proud and loving father of 3 children, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Evelyn E. nee Jackson and Carroll S. Hudson. He is survived by his three children: Mark S. (Jessica) Hudson, Thomas G. (Magdalena) Hudson, and Eric X. Hudson and his former wives Janice C. nee Wilson McCormick and Annabel nee Garcia Hudson. Jim was born in Houston, Tx on January 5, 1945, where he was raised and lived most of his life. He was a long-time employee of Lacks Valley Furniture.
Jim was enthusiastic for so many things in life including dancing, golfing, fishing, and skiing. He even saw Tiger win twice during his 5 trips to the Masters. He loved the drums and played in a band in high school; he was a cheerleader in college; and he acted in church plays. He loves Jesus and enjoyed his bible study group.
He was an excellent and dedicated salesman; he wouldn’t eat until he made a sale each day. He loved history and retained everything he ever learned. He loved to visit Mexico years ago and would raise money and collect toys for the orphans in Mexico who he would grill for (they called him the “Burger King”). He kept up with his friends from high school, college and his fraternity Kappa Alpha Order his whole life. He rang the bell for the Salvation Army during Christmas and was dedicated to delivering Meals on Wheels toward the end of his life.
Jim loved family and friends and was always there when we needed him. He is loved and will be missed dearly.
The memorial service will be at South Park Funeral Home, 1310 North Main Street, Pearland, TX 77581 on Thursday April 20, 2023 at noon with a reception to follow until 2:00 in the funeral home.
