Mr. Harry Cabbiness Richmond Jr.'s Obituary
Harry Cabbiness Richmond Jr (H C) age 90 passed away August 31, 2018. He was born Oct 2,
1927 and raised in Houston, Tx. Born to Harry Sr and Mary Lee (Gardiner) Richmond. Harry
served in the U S Navy from 1945 to 1954. He married Virginia Rae Vick March 25, 1949. As a
young man he was a member of the Masons. He worked in sales all his adult life traveling the
Texas roads mostly South Texas. He spent some nights with family while on the road. He loved
telling his stories of his time in the Navy and all the things he did in his life such as braking
horses with his brother Raymond. Had a chance at possibly being a movie star. He would say
he did a little of everything.
He is survived by his four children Judy Pruett and husband Ronnie, Harry III (Bubba) and wife
Gail, Linda Atkinson and husband Roy who we lost recently, Mary Bass and husband Craig.
Ten grandchildren; Danny Pruett and wife Jana, Craig Bass II, Christi and husband Brian Kurz,
Sarah Duminie and husband David, Rebecca Bass, Jason Atkinson who passed 2/27/2018,
Daniel Atkinson and wife Melissa, Kellie Dierschke and husband Tyson, Kasey Rae Richmond
and Harry C. IV (B J).
Survived by ten great grandchildren; Austyn and Avery Pruett, Elijah and Coen Atkinson,
Grayson, Nolan and Luke Dierschke, Trey Bass, Kayleigh and Brianna Kurz. Also two step
grandchildren Timmy Pruett and Kim Cavenaugh and their children and grandchildren.
Visitation is Wend. Sept 5, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00pm at South Park Funeral Home 1310 North
Main St, Pearland Tx 77581. Reception to follow at 11734 N. Evelyn Cir, Houston, Tx 77071.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harry Sr and Mary Richmond, brothers Francis and
Raymond Richmond, wife Virginia Rae Richmond, grandson Jason Atkinson and son-n-law Roy
Atkinson.
