Mr. Fernando Antonio Fuertes' Obituary
Fernando “Fred/Freddy” Fuertes
Fernando “Fred” Antonio Fuertes passed away on May 17, 2015 in Pasadena, Texas at the age of 61 after suffering a major heart attack. Fred was born on October 22, 1953 in Lima, Ohio to Fernando Luis and Carmen Fuertes. Fred worked at S&B Engineers Inc. for over 30 years as a “super programmer” in the IT department. Growing up, Fred (“Freddy” as his friends called him) enjoyed playing baseball, hanging out with friends in the neighborhood and being a great big brother to his four younger siblings. Fred married Pamela Little in 1988 and together they have two children, Wesley, 19, and Ashley, 16. Fred greatly enjoyed being involved in the kids’ lives and extracurricular activities. He was a lively, goofy, and dedicated husband, father, brother, and friend. He was there for you at the drop of a hat, and was happy to help whomever and whenever. Fred will be lovingly remembered as an incredibly insightful, creative, smart, funny, and dedicated man of great character.
Fred is preceded in death by both of his parents, Fernando Louis Fuertes, and Carmen Ordonez Fuertes. He is survived by his wife, children, siblings, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends that consider him family. The Fuertes family will receive visitors on Saturday, May 23rd at 1:30pm at the Deer Park United Methodist Church located at 1300 East Thirteenth Street, Deer Park, 77536 at 1:30pm, followed by a Celebrating of Life at 2:30pm. A private family internment will follow at a later date.
The family is establishing an education/assistance fund for Wesley and Ashley to receive donations as Fred was very supportive of their education and life pursuits.
To honor Fred, the Fuertes Family has established an education fund for his children, Ashley & Wesley, at the Gulf Coast Educators Credit Union. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fred Fuertes Children's Education Fund, c/o GCEFCU, 5953 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Tx, 77505.
