I work at the Houston Refinery and have been here for 41 years. Early in my career, Charlie was my supervisor. I was very young (early 20's) and when I read the Obituary and saw the part that said "He believed there was only one way to do a job, and that was the right way, without compromise " it brought back a flood of memories. Charlie used to scare the heck out of me as my boss ...I remember one time I was like 3 minutes late returning from a 15 minute break and he wanted to know where I was, what was I doing and he let me know that was unacceptable behavior! Needless to say that didn't happen again. As the years went by, Charlie kept up his gruff demeanor at work...but as I got to know him... I found a sweet and caring man. Charlie taught me a lot about work ethics and I found myself feeling I had accomplished a good days work whenever I would see him nod at me and crack a small smile. Heaven is receiving a good man. Prayers go out to his family and friends.
