It has been a long time since I got to visit with Barbara. We are first cousins, and through the years have not gotten to get together often. We had such a good time when we were young and I could go spend the night with her and her family. My fond memories of her include riding a horse across the railroad track to South Park Cemetery and looking at the flowers and graves. They lived on a dairy in what is now Brookside, so it was quite a ride. Also we would sneak a ride on some of the cows they milked(when her folks didn't see us, since that was a no no). We would sit and play battle (card game) at night while Uncle Patsy listened to the radio that was on a table in the corner. That was the 30's and there were no T Vs. It was such fun back then.
I am so sorry that this is so late, but because of the storm I knew through Pearland relatives that they could not bury her until after the storm. We were displaced for about 2 weeks during the flooding after the storm and then I was not able to come to the services due to my husband's poor mental capacity. I would love to be able to talk with Cissie or John to express my sympathy.
