Our Story
We've learned a lot about caring for families over the years. We realize that we aren't just caring for a loved one, but the entire family. People come to us during their most difficult times, and we respond with kindness, understanding and expertise. Our goal is to make everyone feel at home as we work with them to create a memorable service in honor of a beautiful life.

Serenity for acres
Gentle rolling lawns with quiet walkways, picturesque statues and well-maintained landscaping contribute to the solemn beauty of South Park Cemetery. Dating back to the mid-1930s, South Park is one of the oldest cemeteries in the area. This perpetual care cemetery offers traditional ground burial, mausoleum entombment, custom family estate mausoleums and lawn crypts.

One-stop convenience
Known for its dignity, peace and serenity, South Park offers the one-stop convenience of an expansive funeral home, on-site crematory and cemetery.

Dedication, compassion & experience
We have built a reputation for excellence and are committed to creating a unique personalized experience for every individual. We know the importance of small details and assist in creating an experience that is just right for your needs and preferences. Whether it is a simple service or an elaborate one, we work diligently to ensure that it is a memorable experience.

Eddie Martinez
Area Managing Partner, Operations
Eddie Martinez is a dedicated funeral service professional with deep roots in Houston, Texas. Born and raised in the city, Eddie's journey in the funeral industry began at a young age when he started working at Guillen Funeral Home while still in High School
Eddie's passion for helping families during difficult times led him to pursue formal education in funeral services. He attended the Commonwealth Institute in Houston, where he balanced his studies with work at Felix H. Morales Funeral Home. Through hard work and dedication, Eddie climbed the ranks at Felix H. Morales, eventually reaching a managerial position.
In 2001, Eddie's career took him to San Antonio, where he joined Porter Loring Mortuary. This move provided him with valuable experience in a different market for a decade. However, the pull of his hometown remained strong.
After 10 years in San Antonio, Eddie and his family decided to return to Houston. He initially took on the role of Location Manager with SCI. His expertise and leadership skills have since propelled him to his current position as Area Managing Partner of Operations for both South Park Funeral Home & Cemetery and San Jacinto Memorial Park and Funeral Home, under the NorthStar Memorial Group
Eddie's personal life is as rich as his professional one. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Maria, for over 32 years, demonstrating his commitment to long-lasting relationships. Together, they have three children: Alicia, Isaiah, and Reagan.

Rosa Soto
Assistant Managing Partner of Operations
Rosa M. Soto began her career in the funeral profession in 1999, when she began working for a casket manufacturing company during her last year of high school, and continued as she served the local community at a family owned funeral home. Her dedication and commitment to serve would lead her to quickly be promoted and to seek her education becoming a licensed funeral director, embalmer and crematory operator.
In August 2022, Rosa joined SouthPark Funeral Home as a funeral director and embalmer. Her constant dedication, knowledge, and genuine commitment to serving families with care and compassion allowed her to obtain the Funeral Home Manager position at SouthPark in late July 2023.
In November 2024, Rosa Soto was promoted to Assistant Managing Partner of Operations, where she will oversee both funeral and cemetery operations, demonstrating her exceptional leadership and commitment to the community.
Rosa has faced many challenges throughout her life journey, especially for the past 25 years, but she has never given up. Being a role model to her daughter and having her loving husband’s and family's unconditional support and motivation, push her to keep excelling at what she loves: serving those in a time of need.

John Childers
Managing Partner, Family Service
John Childers started in the funeral services profession in 1995. He is a veteran and enjoys spending time with wife and family traveling, cooking and spending time fishing. He has been an instrumental part in helping South Park Funeral Home serve the many families in the Pearland community.
His top priority is leading and guiding the talented team of Family Service Advisors, in compassionately helping families through one of the most difficult times in their lives. John and the resilient team at South Park believe in our company culture, the four behaviors it represents are P.A.C.T: PASSION, ACCOUNTABILITY, CARING AND TEAMWORK, all while continuing their promise to go above and beyond the families they serve.

Ebone Nickerson
Cemetery & Funeral Home Office Manager
Ebone’ Nickerson began her career in property management before life presented her with the opportunity to take on new challenges. In 2014, after her mother suffered a brain aneurysm, she stepped into a caregiving role while also pursuing her entrepreneurial spirit, opening a car customization shop in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Later, seeking stronger educational opportunities and a supportive community for her family, Ebone’ and her husband relocated to Katy, Texas in Jan 2020. There, she advanced her career as an Operations Manager at one of Houston’s most recognized car customization shops, where she applied her leadership and business expertise to support both staff and clients.
Ebone’ holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an Associate of Science in Computer Information Systems. She is a proud wife and mother of two daughters, ages 15 and 20. Her eldest daughter works as a driver for a crematory in the Bay Area, continuing the family’s tradition of service.
In her current role as Office Manager, Ebone’ views her work as a true calling and looks forward to contributing her knowledge of operations, leadership, and business management to serve families with care and dedication.
We illuminate paths to peace with personalized ceremonies and memorial tributes that honor your loved one.
