Our beloved, Yolanda M Vasquez passed away peacefully in her home on July 18, 2024 at the age of 75. She was born to Manuel & Emma Martinez and is survived by her husband, Ernest Vasquez, Daughter, Elena Vasquez, son’s Robert Vasquez Jr. (Yolanda), and Andrew Vasquez, grandson, Xavier Vasquez (Alyssa), great granddaughters Xaira Ray and Xoe Ray Vasquez, grandchildren, Antonio, Jessica, Neveah & Michael, siblings Manuel Martinez, Jr (Enedelia) and Elaine Hernandez (JR), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was born in Houston, Texas on February 3, 1949. Yolanda grew up in Denver Harbor and is the eldest of 7 children and she loved her family unconditionally. After graduating Jeff Davis High School, she went on to work at the City of Houston where she worked from 1969-1999 and retired from the Municipal Courts at just 50 years old. She received the key to city and was given a day dedicated to her by the Mayor, Lee P. Brown.
Yolanda and Ernest married on July 16, 1995 and were married for 29 years. Throughout their relationship they traveled many miles across the United States. They both enjoyed cross country motorcycle rides and camping. She also had a green thumb and a passion for gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Sr. and Emma Martinez, sister, Lydia Barrios, brothers, Paul, Daniel and Marcial Martinez along with nephew, Herbert Barrios Jr
