Our beloved Yolanda V. Soza passed away peacefully at Sugarland Methodist Hospital on June 26, 2024, at the age of 79. She is survived by her husband Wilfredo Vela, son Raul (Josephine) Mendez, III; Granddaughter Mercedes A. Mendez, Grandsons: Matthew I. Mendez & Noah E. Mendez, Great
Grandsons: Jesse J. Cazares & Zaydin J. Mendez. Sisters: Gracie Mungia of College Station, TX; Umbelina (Armando + ) Fernandez of Freer, TX, Angie (Joe) Lopez of Premont, TX, and Cora (Allen) Jacobs of Alice, TX.
Stepchildren: Emma (Juan) Rincones, Wilfredo (Sylvia) Vela, Jr, George (Rhonda) Vela, Mario (Ida)Vela.
Step Grandchildren: Juan Rincones, Jr, Stephanie Rincones, Thomas Rincones, Erik, Crystal Vela, George Vela, Jr, Lauren Vela, Jacob Vela, Laisha Vela, Mario Vela, Jr., Christopher Hollingsworth & Morgan Hollingsworth, and several Step Great-Grandchildren
She was born in Benavides, TX on September 15, 1944. Her childhood in Benavides, TX instilled a lifelong passion for horseback riding, swimming, sewing, listening to music, family, and she loved to speak about it with anyone who would listen. She was a true Daddy’s girl always talked about her
Daddy.
Yolanda and Wilfredo first met and bonded over their mutual appreciation for music and continued to share this throughout their 25-year relationship. She leaves behind her son Raul Mendez, III. She was proceeded in death by her Grandson Josiah C. Mendez, Parents: Ignacio & Olivia Villarreal, Brothers: Ignacio Villarreal & Fortino Villareal, Sisters: Rosemary Villarreal & Gloria Garcia
Brother-N-Law: Felix Garcia The funeral will be held at South Park Funeral Home. All friends and family are welcome.
