Mr. Wyatt William Givens' Obituary
Wyatt William Givens Jr., 94, of Houston, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 in Shenandoah, Texas. Mr. Givens was born on November 21, 1921 in McCune, Kansas to Wyatt and Annie Givens. After graduating from high school he joined the US Army where he served in the First Special Forces during WW11 he was a recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal and three Purple Hearts. When the war ended he then went to work as a plumber. He belonged to Plumber Union 68 in Houston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Nona Y. Givens and son; Wyatt William Givens, III, granddaughters; Barbara Sullivan and husband Richard, Roberta Nicole Givens, grandson; Wyatt William Givens IV, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM at Southpark Funeral Home, 1310 North Main St. Pearland, Texas 77581. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 PM in the funeral home chapel.
