Mrs. Wilma Jean Hagen's Obituary
Wilma Jean Hagen, 84, of Houston, Texas passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Hagen was born on July 2nd, 1933 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Jean met her husband while working as a Dental Assistant in 1968, and they were married in 1969. She was a member of the Gulfhaven Seventh-Day Adventist Church for over 40 years. Her proudest achievement was when she was ordained as an Elder on August 6, 2016. Jean began her career as an Administrative Assistant at American Warehouses where she worked for over 10 years. Fellow church members, Bob and Nancy Robinson then asked her to work for their company, Red Robin (Real-Estate) Corporation where she was employed for over a decade. After leaving Red Robin, she changed career paths and worked as an Insurance Medical Examiner for approximately 15 years. However, her most rewarding role was being a job coach for special needs children for the Pasadena Independent School District from 2003 - 2012, until she retired.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Haakon V. Hagen; son, Derek Hagen; daughter, Natasha Prodan and husband Tom; step-daughter, Hanne Sundbo and husband Nils-Steinar; grandchildren, Stephanie, Hailey, Tori, Laura, Tim, Missy, Richard and Andre; great-grandchildren, James, Aubry, Lily, and Turner; as well as numerous nieces & nephews and grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her sons, Tommy and Jimmy Kyle; mother, Majorie Morris Wilder; father, James Wilder and wife Mildred; brothers, Dale and Jim Wilder; sister, Rosemary Frankens.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gulfhaven Seventh-Day Adventist Church 10716 Sabo Road Houston, Texas 77089. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM, Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Gulfhaven Church followed by burial at Forest Park East Cemetery. Reception immediately following at Gulfhaven Church Fellowship Hall.
