Mr. William Lester Sirles' Obituary
William L. (Bill) Sirles, age 95, passed away March 24, 2013 in Southlake, TX. Bill was born August 16, 1917 in Allegany, Maryland and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. He spent summers in Maryland; but, attended New York public schools and Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute. After beginning his work life in New York, Bill transferred to Houston. There he met the love of his life, Effie Mae. He was a resident of Houston for 67 years from 1942 - 2009. An accomplished draftsman, piping designer and drafting room manager in the Petrochemical industry, Bill loved what he did and worked into his 90s. While good at his engineering tasks, Bill was also an accomplished craftsman and "jack of all trades". He took care of details in his work, around his home, and in his personal life. While sometimes he was reserved or preferred to be alone, he will be remembered as a kind, intelligent gentleman who took care of others and himself. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Effie. He is survived by his sons Carl Sirles and his wife Phyllis of Auburn, GA; Glen Sirles and his wife Linda of Southlake, TX; and by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
