How does one sum up the life of a remarkable, larger than life man like Bill McCord? While almost impossible to do so in such few words, his life and legacy begs to be told. William ‘Bill’ Filmore McCord was born October 10, 1929 Read Obituary

My mother, Betty Jane Parrish Walker and her brother Charles Patrick "Pat" Parrish were always so excited when Bill came back to Florida for a visit. They would try to gather as many cousins and friends as possible to have a mini-reunion with him. I met with him several times when he would stay on Anna Maria Island. He impressed me as being honestly interested my life and family. Such a kind and gentle man. Know his family will miss him.
As an aside, I have become involved with the "Crawford Parrish Family Reunion" which meets in Parrish Florida, the Saturday after Mother's Day. Although we haven't met the past two years due to the Covid pandemic, we plan to have a hum-dinger of a reunion in 2022. If any of Bill's descendants would like to be added to the Directory / mailing list that I maintain, please email me at [email protected]. As I always sign off,
Proud to be a Parrish descendant,
John Walker
My family and I have loved Bill and his family over 20 years. I have many stories I could. The biggest take away from my relationship with Bill was that he had an urgency with everyone he met. He had to share with them who Jesus was and what Jesus could do for them. The first time I witnessed it was at a McDonalds, he asked the cashier do you know Jesus, she said yes, he continued good, because if you didn't I would have introduced you to Him. I am changed because I knew Bill and his family. Thank you for showing me what being a Christ follower was all about.
Much Love,

I remember visiting the McCords when I was in second grade. Bill said us kids one painting each but I thought two were great so I tried to take them both. Mom was not happy but Bill, of course, wanted me to have them. I have them today and plan to keep them for a long time. I love having people over who will admire them. I have a grand canyon painting, and my favorite is a painting of a blue V tail Bonanza in flight among clouds. I have always been fascinated with aviation and Bill and I seemed to share that love! From what I can tell Bill loved Jesus well and finished strong!
I remember the day I met the McCords. She was busy assigning projects and he was just smiling away. What a beautiful obituary covering his dash. Life complete. He will be missed but he has served a good life. Cheers to the greater cloud of witnesses.
