I can not share a single memory as there are so many. Bill was a huge part of my life for more than 30 years. Bill and I met when we bowled together, eventually I became his bookkeeper and more important, a lifelong friend. He was a true family man! . When he sold his house, he had not planned ahead. My girls and I stopped to see him as he was packing. When I asked, when do you have to be out of here, his response was, "tomorrow". He was planning to stay in a hotel for a couple days, till he found a place. After we all finished packing, he spent the night (and the next 4 months) at my place. He brought along his prized stuffed duck which he proudly hung on the wall. When he moved on, the duck remained at my place, until one day when the cat attacked and destroyed the duck. I found the poor thing in pieces with feathers all over the room. For months, he asked if he could come pick up the duck and I avoided it. I didn't have the heart to tell him. Eventually, it was revealed that the duck was gone and he forgave me because that's the type of guy he was. For years after that, we always laughed about "the duck".
My youngest girls worked for Bill at the AOJ and he had a positive impact on their lives For that, I am grateful. He was the reason I attended Community Church of Joy. His faith, undeniable! Bill was loving, caring, adventurous, and just fun to have around. His positive attitude was infectious. He always had a smile and hug for those around him.
Bill was loved by many and will be missed by all. God hit a homerun when he hade Bill!!
Rest in peace my friend!
