Mr. William Fassy Jr.'s Obituary
There is comfort and forgiveness in God's arms as Jesus is calling me home. William Fassy, Jr. was born on September 20, 1935 in Houston, Texas to William and Cora Mae Fassy. He took that last fishing trip on June 3, 2011 - in Houston, Texas. He was baptized at Manchester Baptist as a young man. He enjoyed fishing and boating as his favorite past times. He loved animals; especially his Schnauzers. As his father and uncle Leon before him, William carried on the tradition and worked at Platzer Shipyard in Greens Bayou. After serving two years in the US Army in Germany, he returned to the states to marry the love of his life, Margaret, on December 16, 1960. They recently celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2010 at the Pearland Community Center.
They established residence in Pearland in 1960, and shortly after, William gained employment with McGinnes/Royce Mfg as a machinist in 1978. He also was a partner in Boyles Anchor Company for 34 years with Gerald Anderson.
As a resident of Pearland for 51 years, William is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Margaret; daughter, Jennifer; brothers, Walter, Milby and Robert; sisters, Carolyn and Betty Mae; many other cherished family members and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday June 6, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the SouthPark Funeral Home. A Celebration of William's Life will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in The Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home in Pearland, TX with burial to follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
