Mr. William Joseph Burdick's Obituary
William Joseph "Bill" Burdick, 75, of Hemphill, Texas passed peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, November 26, 2011 in Houston, Texas. Bill was born on May 21, 1936 in Longview, Texas to Cecil E. Burdick and Bernice Bailey Burdick who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by grandchildren Kristen, Caitlin and Kyle Burdick of Pearland, Texas. Bill graduated from Subiaco Academy in Subiaco, Arkansas in 1956 and was also a graduate of San Jacinto Junior College. He served in the United States Navy from 1958-1962. He was an employee of Exxon Pipeline Company for 28 years. Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Rowe Burdick, and their three children; Beth and husband James Staner, grandchildren Dylan, Rebecca and Daniel of Rosharon, Texas; Brenda and her husband Troy Cannella, grandchildren Jordan, Matthew, Anna, Will and Sam of Erie, Colorado; Brian Burdick and wife Tasha, grandchild Justin of Pearland, Texas. Bill is also survived by his siblings Cecil Burdick Jr. and wife Sue of Houston, Texas and Edith Ann Goodwin of Houston, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was an avid fisherman, hunter and lifelong Astros fan. He will be missed by many and forgotten by none. In lieu of flowers donations to The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in honor of William J. Burdick are encouraged.
