Wendell "Pop" Arless Rhodes' Obituary
Wendell "Pop" Arless Rhodes, of Pasadena, age 74, went home to be with his Savior February 10, 2010, after his courageous battle with cancer. Wendell was born February 26, 1935, in Pattonville, Texas to Walter and Blanche Rhodes. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, I.C. Rhodes, Sr. and Ronald Rhodes. Wendell is survived by his wife and best friend of 54 years, Carol Jenkins Rhodes, his "Sweet Lady" as he lovingly called her. Daughter Shari Rhodes Hughes and husband Ed, son Wendell "Alan" Rhodes, grandchildren, Corey E. Hughes and wife Amanda, Austin M. Hughes, Colby A. Rhodes, Chelsie R. Rhodes, great grandchildren, Ethan Edward and Henry "Hank" Wendell Hughes, and brother Walter H. "Tuck" Rhodes, Jr. and wife "Peggy". "Pop" will be greatly missed and remembered for his never - ending love for his family and his generosity to all who needed him. He loved the game of golf and was a member of Alvin Country Club for many years and also a member of Park Place Masonic Lodge, #1172. He spent 50 years working at Bell Bottom Foundation in Pearland, Texas. The family would like to thank Dr. Qurashi and the nurses and staff at Bayshore Medical Center for their loving care during his illness. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
