Mr. Wayne G. Davis' Obituary
Wayne G. Davis, 84, passed away on March 29, 2007 after battling cancer and heart disease. He was born in Hico, Texas to Truman and Martha Davis. Wayne retired as Chief Scheduler with Texas Eastern Products Pipeline after 25 years service. He served in WWII with the Coast Guard and was a Post 594 Commander and Adjutant, and a District 1st Vice Commander with the American Legion. He was a Master Mason with Lodge 1296. Wayne was the original McGyver who could fix anything. He loved gardening, astronomy, politics, and making his famous heavy dinner rolls for every family occasion.
He is preceded in death by parents, brothers, James and Lester, and sister, Virginia.
He is survived by wife of 59 years, Izell Davis; sister, Imogene Avalos; sons, Larry Davis and wife Sylvia and Truman Davis and wife Mary Ann; daughter, Patsy Threadgill and husband Tony; grandsons, Damien Bethuen, Perry Threadgill, John, Jeffrey and Jeremy Davis and numerous great-grandchildren. Wayne will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. The family will receive visitors 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2007. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday at SouthPark Funeral Home (1310 N. Main, Pearland) with interment to follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
