Ms. Wanda Palmer Nichols' Obituary
Wanda Nichols was born on November 29, 1930 to Robert and Jessie Palmer. After growing up in East Texas, her family moved to Pearland where Wanda met Jay Nichols. Jay and Wanda eloped on November 4, 1953 and were married until Jay's death in 2006. Wanda worked for Houston Pipeline Co. in Pearland for nearly 30 years. She retired but decided that wasn't for her so she went back to work full-time in downtown Houston for Gulf Coast Geological Library for several years. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Wanda is survived by her daughters, Janelle (Blair) Currin, Jamie (Terry) Schuelke and Jodie (Richard) Maniet; her granddaughters, who were her pride and joy, Erin and Britney Schuelke and Ashley and Amanda Maniet. She is also survived by her sisters, Peggy Marasckin and Carolyn (David) Christensen and by her sister-in-laws, Carleen (Mickey) Mark and Armilda (Bill) Hall as well as her two special friends, Pat Burkett and Pat Smajstrla.
The family would like to thank the staff at Windsong Village and Heart to Heart Hospice for their wonderful care and support.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to First United Methodist Church, 2314 N. Grand Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm, Thursday, April 24, 2014 at SouthPark Funeral Home in Pearland, TX. A Celebration of Her Life will be at 10am, Friday, April 25, 2014 at The Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home, with interment to follow.
