Ms. Wanda Lee Maldonado's Obituary
Wanda Lee Maldonado was one of those people that effected everyone in her life. Sometimes it was with a cold splash of truth when we needed it, but most of the time it was her kind heart that engulfed us. Family meant everything to her, she never left her mother’s side until the day she passed. It was that deep seeded love of family that she infused in all of us. There wasn’t a day she wasn’t grateful for all of her family. She spent her entire adult life working for Dillard’s; she was hired on when it was Joske’s in the loading docks. She worked in two stores, and with many wonderful people that she counted as friends and family for thirty-one years. She retired three years ago, and found a new life with her sister, Cindy and her little love, Rose: the abandoned dog she gave a home. Her and Rose would sit on the porch of her home and feed the birds and squirrels. Wanda took pride in caring for the flowerbeds and decorating her yard so that her and her sister’s home looked nice and festive during the holidays. She had the world’s biggest heart, and all who felt her love will cherish it forever. She is survived by her sisters, Cindy King, Molly Smith, and Hope Moorhead. Her nieces and nephew, Tonya Gentsch, Chantell Velasquez, Antionette Sjoberg, Angela Velasquez and Michael Stout. Her great nieces and nephews, Giovanni Kuy, Erin Guillory, Victoria Sjoberg, and Gage Oakley. And not to forget her heart, Rosita Maria Maldonado, her beloved pet. We all will miss her greatly, but know she is with us every day in our hearts. We will see her in the flowers she planted and feel her in the times we need the strength she taught us to have. We know she is with her mother Tomasa, sister Yvonne and great-niece Bradley. Together they are at peace and happy, and looking down on us with love.
