Mrs. Wanda Jean Brown's Obituary
Wanda Jean Brown entered into the loving arms of our Lord on March 22, 2020, at the age of 83 years old. She was born in Houston, Texas on August 25, 1936, to Helen and Bernard Terry and had been a long-time resident of Pearland. She is preceded in death by her parents Joel and Helen Guinn, grandparents George and Oleta Caster and grandson Derek Osburn.
She is survived by her husband Brent Brown, daughter Vickie Bramblett and husband Ed Bramblett, granddaughter Ashley Slisz and husband Joshua Slisz, brother Joey Guinn and wife Cecilia Guinn.
She attended Milby High School where she developed life-long friendships with people that held a special place in her heart and socialized with often throughout the years.
Wanda also met and fell in love with Brent while in high school and they were married on August 25, 1954, during their senior year. Their love for each other, their family and friends was obvious to all and their marriage was an inspiration to the rest of us. She was a loving mother to her daughter Vickie, and later in life the dearest friend and confidant as well. She also had an extraordinarily special relationship with her granddaughter, Ashley.
Wanda enjoyed hobbies such as bowling, arts & crafts, sewing and gardening, and relished the years when vacations and weekends were spent at their second home on Lake Livingston, fishing, roasting wienies and marshmallows over a fire, playing games until the wee hours and appreciating nature. She was a great cook and everyone had a place at her table. Her compassion and love for animals resulted in many pets throughout the years and they were always part of the family.
Because of COVID-19, we will be holding a family only service on March 27, 2020 at SouthPark Funeral Home to be followed at a later date with a Memorial Service that all can attend.
To ensure the health and safety of our community, we are following all guidelines set by local, state and CDC officials.
