Mr. W. Harry Padgett's Obituary
W. HARRY PADGETT passed away January 27, 2012 in Houston, TX at the age of 85. He was born May 23, 1926 in Sanford, FL before moving to Leesburg, FL where he spent the first part of his life prior to moving to Houston in 1963. Harry served his country for two years in the Navy during WWII. He was a registered Professional Land Surveyor in 13 states and had his own land surveying company for 60 years. He was a member of AOPA and enjoyed flying himself around the country. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Margaret Padgett, his sisters, Melba Skinner and Marjorie Owen, and his brother Donald Padgett. He is survived by his wife of 22 years and 1 day, Donna; his brother Billy and wife Lib of Phoenix, AZ; his son Bill and wife Phyllis of Houston, TX; his daughters Diana and husband Fernest O'Gea of La Marque, TX, and Kristi and husband Louis Pace of Hattiesburg, MS; his grandchildren Christina Padgett of Panacea, FL, Joana Kolle and husband Bracken of Sugar Land, TX, Tracey Martinez and husband Juan of Tallahassee, FL and Nick Padgett of Auburn, AL; and; his five great-grandchildren Bell, Brice, Hannah, Kylee and Cody, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Sugar Land Methodist Hospital for all the help and kind attention they showed to Harry during his final days. He was treated as if he were a member of their own family and it was greatly appreciated. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 12:30 pm at South Park Funeral Home in Pearland, TX. A private burial will take place at a later date at the Houston National Cemetery.
