Violet Primrose Adlam's Obituary
VIOLET PRIMROSE ADLAM: It is with deeply saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Violet Primrose Adlam on Saturday, August 28, 2021 while in hospice care at her residence in the city of South Houston at the age of 79 years.
She was the loving wife of David Adlam and dear mother of Karen Samantha Schnautz and her husband Vernon of South Houston, Kristen Marie Rusk and her husband Brian of Pearland. Grandmother of: Amber, Brandon, Brinley and Britton. Great-grandmother of: Logan.
She was predeceased by her parents Gladys Emily Willings (née Hooper) and Maurice Albert Willings, and her sister Margaret. She has a beloved brother Roy Willings who resides in the United Kingdom.
Violet was born in the village of Stanstead, Sudbury England. She met her husband who was on duty in the United States Air Force 81st A&E squadron at RAF Bentwaters in England. She was a hostess for W.A. & A.C. Churchman, a British cigarette and sports card manufacturer based in Ipswich. David was born in England and raised in Canada, and they had an immediate bond. They fell in love and in 1968 moved to Texas. They both became U.S. citizens and proud Texans.
She loved gardening and could be found tending her flower beds when she was younger. While raising two daughters, Violet obtained a position at the Almeda Mall Target store. She was a fixture there for nearly thirty years before retiring as Cashier Supervisor. She also made time in her busy life to support her two daughters in softball, volleyball and band practice and her grandson in car racing. She was very outgoing and
made friends easily. She was active in the South Houston Parent Teacher Organization and the local Crime Stoppers organization. She was well-known and well-loved by the South Houston community.
