Vincent Brian Bernhardt's Obituary
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for the time we shared, we announce the peaceful passing of Vincent Bernhardt. He departed this world on September 8, 2023, to go to his heavenly home leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and unwavering devotion.
Born on October 16, 1957 at Camp Pendleton in California to Wally and Francis Bernhardt, Vince started his life as a Navy brat and grew up on the various Navy bases along the coasts of the US. As a shy child, he had his brothers to help with the challenges of facing new bases.
Vince was a lifelong learner. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science in the Study of the Future. He worked as a Chemical Engineer and as a Software Engineer and had fond memories of building friendships at Lubrizol and Boeing.
In his free time, Vince had a passion for writing and had self-published several books. My Mother-in-Law Misadventures was a favorite of many readers. He also enjoyed woodworking, carving, gardening, computer games, blogging, and app development. He went on mission trips and shared his faith and his humor.
He had a kind and caring heart and was always willing to help or pray for those in need. He was encouraging to all who knew him. Even during his cancer fight, he always thought of others. He was a man of integrity who loved Jesus and lived to honor Him. We will see him again in heaven and he will be smiling.
See you soon sweetheart! You were the best husband and friend I could have asked for.
Vince was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother; he is survived by his wife Marcella Bernhardt; children Bryan Bernhardt, Elizabeth Bernhardt, John Bernhardt, Marissa Gasaway, Amanda Gladden; grandchildren Andy Gasaway and Luke Gladden; and brothers Barry Bernhardt and David Bernhardt.
