Victoria Nelly Rivera Hernández's Obituary
Our beloved mother Victoria Nelly Rivera Hernández passed away peacefully in her home on June 14th 2025 at the age of 86 years old. She was born on March 15th 1939 in Lolotique, San Miguel. And, she is survived by her three daughters Marina Martínez, Edna Alfaro and Nelly Martínez. Her three siblings, Candelaria Barrera, Gloria Sánchez and Marcos Rivera. She was preceded in death by Dimas Wilfredo Martínez, her son.
Meanwhile living in San Salvador she developed her passion for Christ, the Almighty One, as she used to refer to Him. She gave her life to Christ in 1978 and that instilled a lifelong passion for preaching the gospel, being of help to the needy and serving others. She constantly challenge herself intellectually.
Hernan Martínez was her only husband and even though they had a short marriage she never remarried but devoted her life to Jesus Christ and her four children, eight grandchildren and two great children.
She felt the duty to take care of her family.
Professionally, she was a teacher and became a sub director of one of her schools. Also she knew how to sew and became a seamstress. Family would also enjoy listening to her stories and jokes, making everyone laugh.
She founded the church Betania Cumbres de San Bartolo A.D. in the late 90's. She actively participated at the Biblie Institute, becoming herself a graduate and helping others on their bible school payments.
Victoria enjoyed traveling to Ecuador, Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Canada and twice to Israel.
The funeral will be held at 1310 N Main St., Pearland, TX 77581 South Park Funeral Home on Friday 20th of June, 2025 at 1.00pm the visitation and 3.00pm the burial. All friends and family are welcome. Victoria would have loved to have everyone together.
