Victoria Lee McMahon's Obituary
Victoria Lee McMahon was born June 7th 1945. She worked for National Airlines in Houston, Texas until she met the love of her life, Ed McMahon, beloved sidekick to Johnny Carson on “The Tonight Show,” famed pitch-man and the host of television’s “Star Search.” Victoria and Ed fell deeply in love and married, moving together to Los Angeles where she spent much of her time as Ed’s “right hand woman.” In 1985, Victoria and Ed adopted a beautiful, Irish, green-eyed, dimpled baby girl named Katherine Mary McMahon. Katherine would grow up to be Victoria’s pride and joy.
Victoria and Ed were a very active couple spending much of their time in the Hollywood spotlight. Sadly, Victoria and Ed’s fairytale would not be “forever after,” and their marriage would eventually come to an end. Victoria remained a socialite in Hollywood, owning a restaurant, serving on many boards of charitable organizations, and keeping busy with both investment and philanthropic opportunities.
In 2003, misfortune touched Victoria in the form of primary pulmonary hypertension. After many years of illness, she was blessed with a long awaited lung transplant, providing her the gift of more precious time with her daughter and two beautiful grandkids, Madison Victoria (7) and Corbin Edward (4). Victoria had a blessed and privileged life but when asked what she was most proud of, she would say it was having her daughter and grandbabies in her arms.
On July 15th, 2016, Victoria passed away after a long battle with lung disease. She was loved beyond all measure by friends and family whose lives she touched and whose souls she blessed. To many she was Victoria McMahon, wife of Ed McMahon, but to the ones who loved her most she was, “Mama and Gammy.”
