Mr. Victor Gostomski Sr.'s Obituary
Victor Gostomski Sr., a devoted husband, father and “PawPaw”, age 78, of Pearland, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Victor was born on October 22, 1939 in Clark County Wisconsin, the son of Frank and Rose Gostomski. He married Linda Harding on August 24, 1967 in Houston, TX.
He lived a full, fun and hardworking life. He set out to make his own way at an early age and without finishing high school. His journey took him to Houston, TX where he opened Gostomski Mfg as the owner/operator in 1966 at the age of 27. After 48 years as a welder, he retired in 2014.
During his earlier years, he thoroughly enjoyed helping out at the Little League baseball fields, hunting, fishing and bowling, while his passion in his retirement years was playing the slots at the casino, trying his luck for the “big one” and spending time with his beloved cat, Toby. He was also an avid sports fan with a particular fondness for the Houston Astros. The highlight of “watching them all those years” was getting to see them win the World Series last year! He also loved his old time country music and black and white western movies.
A loving husband and father, we will miss Victor’s easy smile, his sarcastic sense of humor and his gentle nature. No words can express how much we love him. We are comforted in the knowledge that our Lord is holding him in His hands.
Victor is survived by his lov
ing and devoted wife of 50 years Linda; son Victor Jr. (Debbie); daughters Kristen and Ráchel (Johnny); 4 grandchildren: Naconna, Shane, Signe, and Victor III; 2 great-grandchildren: Paisley and Kulton; 2 brothers: Richard (Gayle) and John (Mary); three sisters: Edith, Rita, and Phyllis (Lenny); devoted lifetime friends Don and Virginia Bane, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rose; four brothers: Arnold, Lawrence, Frank, and Dennis; 3 sisters Lorraine, Rosemary, and Harriet; great grandson, Cinch.
