Vicki Lynn Clark's Obituary
Vicki Lynn Clark, at 64 years of age, passed from this life in Santa Fe, TX in her home around 2am on September 10th,
2023. Her children and loved ones were by her side to aid in the comfort of passing. She was preceded in death by her Father
Bruce Clark and Mother Alma Leach.
Vicki was born in Buffalo, NY on November 17th, 1958, and grew up to have a country heart, big city charm, and a
wide range of creativity. She enjoyed the outdoors, and all it had to offer. In her youth she had a horse named Morgan and
always had an open heart to animals in need. Her deep love for Western NY never faded, even though her travels were
widespread. She returned there as often as possible. She was a Rock-N-Roll Queen and loved music. She wrote ditties and
enjoyed singing, especially to her grandboys. Her passion for cooking and baking has left many a memory and blessed too many
to count. A real spitfire attitude that had a fierce loyalty to those she loved.
In her senior year of high school, she moved to Southern California and graduated from Palm Springs High in
1976. After graduating she served in the California Conservation Corps. A few years later she met the love of her life James, in
1984; a Marine from Texas and moved there in 1985 to spend the next 17 years together raising 2 children. During that time, she
played an active role in her community and church and loved to share the love of Christ. She was also the caretaker for her
mother who battled with COPD and severe asthma.
In 2001, she went in search of something. A couple of stops along the way she met John in 2003, who became her life
partner. They have spent the last 20 years in a relationship that has fostered much support for her and her family.
She found what she was looking for deep inside herself. LOVE. “God’s love never fails” was one of her favorite things to say.
Vicki spent the last decade without a drink and made it her mission to share the love she found.
She absolutely insisted on living life to the fullest as only she could. She learned how to live one day at a time and tried to be
present at every moment. She never missed an opportunity to smile. And if you looked at her when she was smiling, chances
are, you were soon smiling too.
After a long fight with cancer, her battle is over, and she is no longer suffering.
She is survived by immediate family: Stepmother Dolores Clark, Sister Diane Johnson, Brother Jeff Clark, Father of her children
James Cotton, Daughter Lisa Cotton, Son Robert Cotton, Life Partner John Travers, and 5 grandchildren Zachery, Benjamin,
John, Abel, and Samuel. As well as many loved ones from Coast to Coast.
Although she is not here physically, she will forever remain in our hearts and will never be forgotten. May she rest in
peace.
Celebration of Life will be held on October 1, 2023 at ASM Boutique & Venue located at 689 W FM 517,
