Mrs. Veara Newman's Obituary
Veara Newman, age 74, of Alvin, Texas passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at Laurel Court Nursing Home. Veara was born on September 20, 1943 in Jamestown, North Dakota and was a resident of Alvin, Texas for 54 years. She worked at Alvin High School as a custodian for many years and was a member of Alvin Missionary Baptist Church of Alvin, Texas. Veara was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Edna Presler; grandparents, Reinhold and Otelia Presler; Jacob and Louisa Gumke; and brother, Ronnie Presler.
Veara is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Donald Newman; daughter MaryAnn Scott; sister Verna Arnold and husband Buddy; brother Kenneth Presler and wife Betsy; sister in law Patsy Presler and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10AM to 11AM Monday, March 12, 2018 at SouthPark Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Monday, March 12, 2018 at SouthPark with Pastor Justin Gatlin officiating. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
