Varghese C Jacob's Obituary
Mr. Varghese C. Jacob (Jimmy), the son of late M.V. Jacob (Kuttaichayan), and the late Mariamma Jacob of Chalayiltharayil house was born on October 23, 1948 in Puthuppally, Kayamkulam, Kerala, India.
After he received his BA degree from Mavelikara Bishop Moore College, he started employment at a travel agency in Delhi owned by his eldest uncle, Peter Varghese. Jimmy immigrated to the United States in 1974. He worked as a security officer and as a State Trooper of New York until he moved to Houston, Texas in 1982. Following his relocation, his training in telecommunications and electronics enabled him to secure a job at Criterion Communications. Later, he became the proud, successful owner of a telecommunications company named Absolute Voice & Data Systems.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Alice; two sons and their spouses, Presley and Sheeba, Wesley and Bency; five grandsons, Elijah, Matthew, River, Raven, and Rain; four siblings, Thomas (Aniyan) Jacob , Samuel (Joy) Jacob, Antony Jacob, and Prameela Oommen.
In addition to being a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, he was equally passionate about his commitment and loyalty to the C.S.I. Church both here and in India. Jimmy was one of the founding members of St. Thomas C.S.I. Church of Greater Houston, where he spent countless hours volunteering to support the church. He also served as a church warden as well as a committee member on multiple occasions during his church life.
Jimmy went to dwell in the shelter of his Heavenly Father on December 22nd, 2021. His loving, caring, and compassionate spirit touched everyone that knew him. He was known for his generosity, which was experienced by people from multiple age groups and walks of life. He knew how to bring joy to the hearts of friends and family with delicious snacks, quirky novelties, and endearing jokes. Jimmy will be missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.
