Mr. Tommy C. Thompson Sr.'s Obituary
Tommy Champion Thompson, Sr., 77, of Bayou Vista, Texas went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 8, 2011 after enduring with perseverance a bout of health issues over the past five and a half years. He was courageous and hung in like a champion! He was born on October 3, 1933 in Longview, Texas. Tommy leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 53 years, Lucille R. Thompson; his children Tommy Jr. and Tonya; sister Clarice; sister Jane; and sister Penni and husband Richard; and numerous loving nieces and nephews and cherished friends. Tommy served our country in the Navy during the Korean War. Later he was a top salesman for many years with White Swan and Sysco Foods and later in life went on to pursue his people skills in the Real Estate market. He was employed by Roy Shifflet Realtors. Tommy loved serving his family and others with a pep in his step and joy in his heart. Due to his background with the Masons, he also had a huge heart for the patients at the Shriners Hospital and was faithful in volunteering toward this cause. Tommy's life has touched and enriched our lives in so many ways. There are no words to express how much he will be missed. We extend our love a gratitude to all our family and friends. Your comforting words and encouragement have meant the world and helped us shoulder the burden. Let the sweet memories of Tommy thrive in our hearts...it is there that he will continue to touch each one of us. Once again, thank you for all your love and support. Praising the Lord for Tommy's life, The Thompson Family
