Mrs. Tina Rhea Henry's Obituary
Tina Henry, born Tina Rhea Rice in Amarillo, Texas moved briefly to Tulsa, Oklahoma at a young age and then to Beaumont where she graduated high school and attended Lamar University. Discovering a passion for music she learned to play pianos and organs and became an accomplished musician.
Tina was able to combine her talent with a career and began selling pianos and organs in Houston. She later was able to share her enthusiasm and passion for music with others as she opened her own business providing musical instruments to Houston Independent School District students. Tina took great pride in being able to locate hard to find instruments when no one else was able to. She also conducted private piano and organ lessons for young people in the South Houston area. Many of Tina's former students credit her with their love of music and the talent within them she helped cultivate.
Tina inherited a love for all animals from her maternal Grandma Howard and dedicated herself to helping strays back to health and into new homes. Her happiest moments were those occupied by her Grandson Cameron, son Adam, and loving husband Jerry. Gentle by nature, friend to all, loved by many-she leaves a void in her family's heart that can't be filled. Tina passed away peacefully after a brief illness on May 2, The National Day of Prayer. Tina is survived by her husband Jerry Henry, son Adam Asaf , grandson Cameron and Mother Jeannene Van Druff. She is also survived by her sister Deena Shields and husband Bruce, brother Russell Rice and wife D'Ray and brother Travis Rice and wife Kathryn, Kathleen Henry, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her Father Ray Rice.
A ceremony celebrating Tina's life will be conducted at SouthPark Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, visitation will begin at 5:00pm and a service will follow at 7:00 P.M. SouthPark is located at 1310 North Main Street, Pearland, Tx. 77581
