Thomas E Varghese's Obituary
Thomas Ettivilayil Varghese (Sapru) was born on November 27, 1948 in Pathanapuram-Kalanjoor, Kerala, India. He was the son of the late E.G. Thomas and Rachel Tho¬mas. He earn¬ed a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from M.G. College Trivandrum and started working with the Kerala State Electricity Board. He married his wife, Aleyamma K. Daniel (Ayoor) in 1974 and immigrated to the United States of America in 1975 residing first in Detroit, Michigan for 6 years and then settling in Houston, Texas in 1981. He worked as an accountant for Dr. Pepper Bottling Company. Later he pursued studies as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and worked¬ for Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Medical Center for over 20 years as well as Triumph and Kindred hospitals in Fort Bend County until his retirement in 2014.
Thomas loved and feared the Lord. He was a steady and unfailing pillar of support for his family, friends and the church community. He was an active and proud member of the Indian Pentecostal Church (IPC) Hebron - Houston.
Christ called Thomas to his heavenly home on July 8, 2020. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Aleyamma K. Varghese, his son Benson Thomas Varghese and wife Marsha, his son Jim Daniel Varghese, his grandchildren Nikhil and Victoria, as well as his sisters, Hephseeba Parayil (Oklahoma) and Annamma George (India).
While we are saddened by our beloved Sapruchan’s passing we find solace in his memory, character, values and loyalty. He will be dearly missed. We love you and will meet you again upon the glorious shore.
