Thomas K. Thomas' Obituary
Thomas K. Thomas, affectionately known as Babu, was born on September 18, 1947, in the state of Kerala, India, to the late Kollarayam. T. Thomas and the late Saramma Thomas. He was the beloved second child in a family of eight. At the young age of 18, Babu embarked on a noble journey by joining the Indian Air Force, where he served his country with unwavering dedication. On April 20, 1972, he married the love of his life, the late Saramma Thomas, fondly known as Bava. Their union, which lasted over 50 years, was a beautiful testament to enduring love and commitment.
In 1975, Babu migrated to the United States, marking the beginning of a new chapterin his life. He went on to build a career in banking and later worked at the Houston Independent School District (HISD), as well as Fort Bend Independent School District (FBISD), where he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. His professional journey was defined by integrity, diligence, and excellence. Babu was known for his exceptional culinary skills and his profound love for food. He lived life to the fullest, generously sharing his kindness and hospitality with everyone he met. Despite his busy schedule, he always made time to teach driving lessons to family, friends, and neighbors, patiently guiding them with care and encouragement. His deep faith in God was a cornerstone of his life. Babu’s home welcomed many pastors from near and far. This was a true reflection of his unwavering commitment to
his spiritual beliefs and his community.
On April 12, 2025, Babu peacefully went to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy
of love, faith, and devotion.
He is survived by his three children and their families: son Bobby and his wife, Smitha; son Bibby and his wife, Kavitha; and daughter Betsy and her husband, Phinu. He was a devoted grandfather to Natalia, Nathaniel, Ethan, Micah, Anya, Jaylen, Jared, and Jordyn, each of whom he cherished deeply. He is also survived by his siblings: Ipe Thomas, Elizabeth Vijaykumar, Mercy George, Eapen Thomas, Annie Cherian, Jacob Thomas, and his late brother Cherian Thomas.
Thomas K. Thomas will be deeply missed. His love and generosity will live on forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
