Mr. Thomas Ray Magers' Obituary
Thomas Ray Magers passed from this life on November 13, 2007 at the age 78. He was born in Henrietta, Texas May 4, 1929. He was the only child of William Lloyd and Mamie Howell Magers. Ray was avid gardner and sports fan. He and Lou enjoyed traveling and spent more than 15 years in various countries as Ray worked for Sedco, Aramco, Santa Fe Drilling and other oil related businesses first as a roughneck and up the ladder to operations manager. For the past 23 years Ray and Lou have resided in Pearland, Texas and Ray became a well-known car dealer working for Greenspoint Dodge, Ron-Carter Champions Chevrolet and at the time of his death Clear Lake Dodge. Ray will be missed for many reasons but most of all for his generosity, playfulness, and sense of humor. He dearly loved his family
He is survived by wife of 42 years, Lou Neighbors Magers. He is also survived by Trey Bateman, Dwight Bateman and wife, Leah; James Bateman and wife, Jan and Carmen Bateman. 'Gramps' is also survived by grandchildren, Will Bateman, Chad Bateman and Ashley Hight and husband Trace, Lacey Gartrell and husband, John, Chip Bateman, Craig Bateman and wife Shannon, Eric Bateman, and Audra Bateman; great- grandchildren, Cooper Gartell, Leah Gartrell, Breleigh Bateman, and Harrison Hight. Ray is also survived by brother-in-law and wife J. L. 'Bubba' and Patsy Neighbors. Sherry Bateman Ingrando also survives him.
Pallbearers will be Will Bateman, Chad Bateman, Craig Bateman, Eric Bateman, Chip Bateman, John Gartrell, and Trace Hight in absentia.
Honorary pallbearers Bryan Ingrando and Armando Robles.
The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at SouthPark Funeral Home on November 14, 2007. Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m., November 15, 2007 in the Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home at 1310 N. Main, Pearland, TX with interment services to follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
