Thomas August Knoflicek's Obituary
Thomas August Knoflicek, age 80, passed away peacefully in Sugar Land, Texas on Thursday, May 16, 2019. He was born on June 22, 1938 in Oak Park, Illinois to August and Mildred (Vavra) Knoflicek.
Tom was preceded in death by his son, Tommy. Tom is survived by his wife, Deshon, his brother Jerry, his son, Scott Hilton, grandchildren, Chris and Brenda, great grandchild, Peyton and another great grandchild on the way.
Tom graduated from the University of Houston where he later obtained a masters degree.
Lovingly known as Mr. K, he taught band in many cities for decades including Hitchcock, Richmond, Rosenberg and at Pasadena High School. He had three favorite things to do while teaching: throwing erasers across the room, telling a student not to be a Prima Donna, and guiding teenagers as they grew into maturity.
While teaching at Pasadena High School, he met Deshon Hilton, a band parent. After a long courting period of 3 months, they married in Pasadena, Texas on December 21, 1984.
Mr. K enjoyed playing in his jazz band and an occasional trip to the casino.
