He came to USA as a student in 1962. he studied at Olivet Nazarene College, In Kankakee, Illinois. His wife Aleyamma Chacko, Valsamma, Baby mole & Sam were in India. we communicated with my dad through writting letters. We were waiting anxiously for our dad's letter and gifts. Sometimes it takes some time to get the mail. He was here on Student visa. There was limits to how many hours he can work. But he have to study full time. I am sure he will work whatever he gets. he have to pay tuition, rent, utility all his other expenses. he will do whatever he have to make money and sent some money to us. We did not know all that hardships until we got here. we would not believe that either. we were thinking America is heaven and there is no troubles here. But our dad did supports us and brought us here after he recieved his Permanent Visa.
we are greatful for getting here. our dad was a simple and humble person.
I am going miss his smile and understanding attitude. He helped everyone in need. He used to remove the snow for our neighbors with his electric snow remover. It's not easy removing snow when it is minus degrees outside. one day I rememer he saw one of our neighbors child was attacked by their own dog. That child's parents did not see that. He went over and helped that child. That was a visious dog. That dog could have attacked our dad. Without any fear he went over and saved that small child. God protected both my dad and that small child.
