Thanh Dahn's Obituary
Thanh Danh was a loving father and family man. He was a quiet, kind and humble person. Although he was a man of few words, he let his actions speak for themself.
Born in Rạch Giá, South Vietnam in 1962, Thanh was the sixth of seven children. Three of his siblings are still in Vietnam and two are currently living in Irving, Texas.
In 1981, he escaped Vietnam by boat among many other refugees and came to America. With his older brother, Sang Danh and cousins, they settled in Wisconsin in hopes of finding freedom and a new life. He learned English and worked hard in pursuit of the American Dream.
His first job in America was at McDonald’s. He studied at Lansing Community College in Michigan. After graduating, he worked for Douglas Steel Inc. in Lansing as a Welder/Part Inspection for about 14 years until he moved his family to Pasadena, Texas in 2003.
He was working for Atlas Steel Fab Inc. in Houston as a Quality Assurance Technician for 18 years until he became ill and passed.
Some of his hobbies included karaoke, fishing and gardening. Many of his hours were spent in his backyard, tending to all of his plants. In his youth, he loved to play soccer and volleyball.
On September 21, 1991, Thanh married Chanthou Pho. Together they had four children: Brian 28, Pauly 25, Darin 17 and Eric 12. He had one grandbaby, Violet, born on January 29, 2020 to Pauly and Jonathan Tran.
Many years later, he was re-married to Nguyet Le from Vietnam on July 12, 2016, and happily lived out his remaining years with her by his side. Those who knew him will miss him greatly.
