Tammy Jo Handy's Obituary
Tammy Jo Handy, of Alvin, TX, born on January 7, 1961, daughter of James Richard Handy and Edith Josephine Handy, passed away on October 4, 2021 after suffering for several years from early onset Alzheimer’s disease. She passed away in her home with her mother and two dogs, Coco and Radar, by her side. Tammy was 60 years of age.
Tammy was preceded in death by her father, James Richard Handy, her grandparents, Johnny Lee McFarlin and Edith Fannie McFarlin, and John Marian Handy and Dixie Handy.
She is survived by her mother, Edith Jo Handy, her brother and sister-in-law James Allen and Yvonne Handy, her nephew Seth Everett Handy and family, and her nephew Anthony Scott Moats and family.
Tammy attended Our Redeemer Lutheran Elementary school and went on to graduate from Victoria High School. She went on to receive her college degree from Lone Star College-Houston.
Tammy loved arts and crafts and studied pottery and drawing in college. She created numerous pottery and jewelry pieces that she shared with her loved ones. Tammy also enjoyed camping and fishing adventures with friends and family. In her younger years, she was very active in softball, volleyball, track, and bowling. She had a very competitive yet good-natured spirit.
